Функционирование партийной системы – действия партийной системы в качестве посредника между обществом и правительством.
Циклы (волны) Кондратьева – модель повторяющихся структурных изменений в современной мировой экономике. Рассматриваемые во временнóм отрезке 60 лет, они включают чередующиеся периоды высокого отраслевого роста и периоды замедленного роста.
Циклы протеста – фазы обострения конфликта и разногласий, характеризующиеся быстрым распространением коллективных действий различных социальных и политических акторов, новациями в формах протеста и интенсивным взаимодействием претендентов на власть и властей.
Эффективное число партий – показатель числа партий, рассчитанный на основе их относительного веса с учетом того, что более крупные партии значат больше, чем меньшие по размеру.
Явка избирателей – доля лиц, имеющих право голосовать на выборах, которые совершают акт голосования на выборах. Подсчет избирательной явки производится разными способами. В США исследователи обычно рассчитывают явку избирателей пропорционально числу всех совершеннолетних избирателей, поскольку в этой стране значительная часть совершеннолетних избирателей не зарегистрирована для голосования. В других странах, как правило, за основу измерения берется число зарегистрированных избирателей.
